Verulam Amateur Swimming Club is a St Albans based club with 230 swimmers and Swim21 Accreditation at Skill Development and Teaching Levels. We run a Swim School offering children’s learn-to-swim lessons and club training sessions for older swimmers. We pride ourselves in being a competitive, but friendly club which aims to give swimmers the opportunity to compete at their own level. Our coaches and teachers are dedicated to get the very best from our swimmers and work alongside our team of volunteers who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the club.

Verulam One Hour “Postal” Swim Sunday 25-January-2015

Time: On poolside for 5:00pm. With a distinctive swimming hat if possible.

Place: Westminster Lodge Pool.

Cost: £4 in a named envelope.

Once again Verulam SC will take part in the one hour “postal” swim organised by the British Long Distance Swimming Association. This is a chance to swim as far as possible in one hour and raise some money for a local charity.

This will take part during our normal training session. There will be NO OTHER SWIMMING IN THE MAIN POOL. LEARN TO SWIM lessons will carry on at their normal time in the small pool.  All swimmers taking part will need to register with their coach before the event ASAP.

The charity chosen this year is the Special Olympics, St Albans which is a charity that enables people with a learning disability to access sporting opportunities at training and competition level. This charity is constantly having their funding cut so every pound raised would make a big difference!
The link to their Virgin Money Giving page

We need volunteers to help count the lengths swam so any parents willing to help would you please put your name on the envelope with the swimmers entry.

If any swimmers are unable to take part on the 25th, there will be a further opportunity on Friday 30th January.
