One hour Charity Postal Swim Sunday, 29th January at Westminster Lodge Pool

All club training on this date will be replaced by the traditional one hour Postal Swim organised by the British Long Distance Swimming Association (BLDSA).

The objective of the Postal Swim is for individual swimmers to achieve the greatest possible distance within one hour. The results will be sent off to the BLDSA and listed in order of the distance completed, in the individual age categories.

Swimmers who would like to take part must enclose correct entry fee (£3.75) in an envelope marked with your name and age as at 1st January, 2012. Please hand this to your coach by Sunday, 22nd January. Every entrant will receive a souvenir badge from the BLDSA.

On the day, swimmers should arrive poolside by 4:15pm for a pre-session warm-up at 4:30pm. The swim will start prompt at 4:50pm, followed by a 10 minute cool down at 5:50pm. If swimmers have a distinctive, colourful swimming cap (other than a Verulam hat) please wear it to help our counters. We need parent volunteers to lap count. If you can help, please write your name on the entry envelope.

Learn-to-swim sessions in the learner pool will run as normal. The Learn-to-swim class held in the main pool from 5:30-6:00pm, will now be rescheduled to 6-6:30pm.
Masters swimmers can either take part in the postal swim or swim between 6-6:30pm.

As previously mentioned, we would like to raise money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. Please donate via our JustGiving page: http://www.justgiving.com/Verulam-Swimming-Club
